A workbook-style reference for frame hierarchy

Use this page alongside our classroom worksheets. It does not replace live feedback on your marked charts, but it gives you a starting structure before the next session opens.

Three roles, three intervals

Every trader in our workshops assigns exactly three timeframes before the bell—not five, not “whatever looks interesting.” Each role has one job.

Role Question it answers Typical ratio to primary
Primary What is my bias and where are invalidation levels?
Confirmation Does price behaviour at entry respect that bias? 4:1 to 6:1 lower
Observation What is happening fine-grained? (No trading authority) Below confirmation

Starting pairs by available session length

These are starting points from our Bangkok classroom, not rules. Adjust after logging your actual desk hours for two weeks.

90 minutes at desk

Primary: 1-hour
Confirmation: 15-minute
Observation: 5-minute

3 hours at desk

Primary: 4-hour
Confirmation: 1-hour
Observation: 15-minute

Full day monitoring

Primary: Daily
Confirmation: 1-hour
Observation: 15-minute

Evening US overlap only

Primary: 1-hour
Confirmation: 15-minute
Observation: 5-minute (limited veto)

When frames disagree

  1. Stop and write which frame is supposed to lead today.
  2. If confirmation vetoed entry, log the specific pattern—do not switch primary without written reason.
  3. If primary structure broke, confirmation is irrelevant; stand aside.
  4. Never promote observation frame to confirmation mid-session because of impatience.
